100 countries. Data is updated
multiple times a year and thus does not reflect daily changes. Data is subject to changes due to
restating a financial statement, changes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles – GAAP
(retroactively), changes in reporting entity (change of ownership, M&A, spin-offs, delisting),
changes in the exchanges that enterprises are traded, and changes in industry classification.
Data sources: Annual reports and / or financial statements from the stock exchanges aforementioned.

Industry: Enterprises are classified by a globally standardized industry classification -
the Global Industry Classification Standard 8/31/2016 version. This is a tiered classification,
including 11 Sectors (level 1), 24 Industry Groups (level 2), 68 Industries (level 3),
157 Sub-Industries (level 4). For a complete list of the tiers and their explanations,
please see MSCI and Standard & Poor's websites.

Region: by country, by state or province (or other administrative divisions), by city or town.

Organizational form: state-owned enterprise, private enterprise, .... Private enterprises
refer to non state-owned enterprises.

Reporting year: Enterprise profile and financial data are grouped by the calendar year of the
reporting date. For example, data labeled “2022” has a reporting date between 1/1/2022 and 12/31/2022.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Enterprises' financial data is presented in a globally unified accounting standard.
